Hume Cemboard Industries Sdn Bhd is an MS ISO 9001:2008 and MS ISO 14001:2004 accredited manufacturer of building materials that supplies its various products internationally. HCI is a member of the Hong Leong Group, one of Malaysia's largest conglomerates with activities in manufacturing, property development and financial services both locally and internationally.

HCI manufactures and distributes the PRIMABOARD™ family of products comprised of cellulose fibre cement boards providing internal lining and external cladding solutions for residential, industrial and commercial markets.

1980 Incorporated under Cemboard (M) Sdn Bhd as a joint venture between Antah Group of Malaysia and Alexander Shand of UK.
1982 Commencement of commercial production.
1985 Acquired by Hume Industries (M) Bhd.
1992 Changed Company name to Hume Cemboard (M) SDN BHD.
1992 Product certified to BS:5669:Pt 4: 1989
1994 Completion of the Finishing Line at Kanthan factory. Set up of the Export Department. Kanthan Factory awarded ISO 9002 Certification.
1996 Company upgraded to PLC status with the name change to Hume Cemboard Bhd.
1997 Setting up of second Cellulose Fibre Reinforced Cement line at Kanthan, Perak.
1998 16 March 1998 - Listing in Main Board of Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
2002 Business Diversification into Concrete Roofing Tiles.
May 2002 Purchase of Premier factory at Semenyih, Selangor.
July 2002 Purchase of Daiman factory at Bandar Tenggara, Johore. - 1 Line
2003 Setting up of Marketing arm - Hume Cemboard Marketing Sdn Bhd.  
2003 Privatisation with disposal to Hume Cemboard Industries.
